On Saturday, 11th December 2010, Lets Moove n Groove Dance & DJ celebrated the year with a happy, friendly and rocking night full of dancing and socialising at Castle Hill Bowling Club, great food from the team at Diamonds Catering, listening to awesome music live from Darren’s band The Rockin’ Heartbeats and during the break thanks to our DJ/photographer and jack of all trades master of none Petar. We were in great company with everyone enjoying the night’s ambience, awards and the many prizes and give-aways that were available. The Rock n Rollers who joined our end of year Christmas party came from all our Rock n Roll dance venues. 2010 dance venues included Penrith, Birrong, Springwood, Wentworth Falls, Castle Hill and Rydalmere.

So Halloween has come and gone. With so many people going to great lenghts it sure made our task of finding a winner for the prizes really difficult. The staff at Rydalmere Bowling Club were great and DJ Pete rocked the night out with a few favourites.

St Mary’s Festival Rock n Roll Demo & Dance Lessons

We were invited to attend the St Mary’s Spring Festival for 2010 along with the Vintage FM crew and asked to demonstrate the ever popular 50s/60s Rock n Roll dance. Whilst we were there we conducted a mini rock n roll dance class. This dance class allowed those in the crowd to participate and get a feel for the fun and joy of Rock n Roll dancing. As a token of appreciation for participants we offered a complimentary 2 for 1 pass to pay Week 1 and receive Week 2 free of any of LMNG’s Rock n Roll dancing beginner courses. A quick moment to thank all our regulars who came out and spared a moment to share in this full day from 9am to 4pm must be shared. Without the passion and love for Rock n Roll dancing from our regular and loyal students, then Rock n Roll would just become a thing of the past. But here we are living Rock n Roll every day and every week. Remember Rock n Roll dancing is more than just dancing – we go to so many places, meet so many fabulous people and make friends for life. Rock n Roll dancing is a community and a culture and a dream! We must also thank Vintage FM 87.6 where “old is good” for allowing us the opportunity to be present and supporting the day with their outdoor broadcasts and the PT Cruiser that provided us with much needed 50s/60s music

Believe it or not but we can all learn Rock n Roll dancing and just like everything in life it takes the desire to want to try, the willingness to try, the open mind to take in new ideas and concepts and of course the standard operation of loads of practice, positive energy, patience, perseverance and plenty of smiles. We all learn at different rates and paces, some of us enjoy the technical, practical and spiritual aspects of learning, some of us need to only watch once and do, others just need to do, or some need to be told and do and there is a large majority of us that like a well-rounded learning experience that encompasses all our senses.

Let’s Moove n Groove Dance & DJ’s Rock n Roll dancers enjoyed 2 days at the Penrith Show with Vintage FM 87.6 on Saturday, 28th August 2010 and Sunday, 29th August 2010. Many thanks for all the encouragement and support from those who were unable to attend and especially for those that committed hours on either 1 or both days to showcase how easy, fun and friendly the original and popular 50s/60s Rock n Roll dancing is. As always it is such a pleasure to be able to sit back afterwards and enjoy a quiet afternoon chatting at a cafe or bar.
